    The home of elegant, artisanal hand-nurtured wines created by dedicated, passionate people.

     

    The first vines were planted in 1995. We have continued to add varietals to those we inherited adopting a forward-looking policy and adding three great white varietals – Chenin, Grenache, and Roussanne as well as really interesting reds – Grenache Noir and Durif. Other varietals are to follow during our six-year planting programme.

     

    Doran Vineyards is situated just off Route 45 on the Swartland borders, about 14 km from Wellington, 15 km from Paarl, and 77 km from Cape Town CBD. We look forward to introducing you to our growing portfolio of award-winning premium wines.

     

    We offer accommodation on our farm in the luxurious self-catering Manor House that sleeps up to 8 guests. Here, we invite you to relax and rejuvenate in this tranquil environment whilst enjoying excellent wines from our renowned boutique winery.

     

    STAY:

     

    Doran Vineyards offer three types of private self-catering accommodation on the estate.

     

    Located on the farm yet close to the attractions that Paarl and the surrounding Winelands area have to offer, this is a great place to stay with friends and family and to have a memorable weekend away.

     

    Our delightful self-catering farmhouse offers a warm welcome.

    EVENTS:

     

    The Doran Vineyards Clubhouse is an ideal function venue for engagement parties and intimate private events!

     

    It offers spectacular panoramic views of the vineyard and mountains, with a sophisticated ambiance ideal for intimate gatherings. Guests can enjoy the generous garden spaces, which provide the perfect backdrop for taking photographs, or the charming interior space with its contemporary country-style look and feel.

     

    GEOGRAPHY:

     

    The Paarl wine district lies to the north of Stellenbosch, and is bordered by the town of Wellington to the north-east, and the mountains of the Groot and Klein Drakenstein and Franschhoek ranges to the south-east.

     

    CLIMATE:

     

    The Paarl region enjoys a very hot and dry climate, with rain very rare in the summer months. Dry farming is very common in the area, with sea air from the Atlantic offering a vital moderating factor to the intense summer heat.

     

    TERROIR:

     

    The terroir naturally gives hearty, concentrated but fresh wines, ideal for serving with a variety of dishes including barbecued meats, game, and even bush meat!

     

    GRAPES:

     

    We hand-nurture our grapes from vine to table, crafting elegant wines that are a joy to drink and share with family or friends.

     

    TASTE:

     

    We believe that each varietal is unique and should be celebrated. That’s why we focus on wines that have a full-bodied taste, accentuating the unique characteristics of each varietal.

     

    WINEMAKING:
