Two thatched self catering chalets each with an en-suite bathroom.
The accommodation is modest yet comfortable, it is the setting that is idyllic.
Set right on the Olifants river, the pool, pooldeck, open kitchen and 2 chalets look right onto an island in the river.
The space
Little Carthage is set deep in the bush right on the Olifant’s river, in the 1000 ha Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve which has most of the plains game.
There is a large pooldeck exclusively for the chalets that has a braai pit and tables, and open access to the outdoor kitchen.
The 2 chalets are set just slightly back and to the side of the outdoor kitchen, while still attached.
The 4 sleeper chalet has a queen size bed downstairs with an open loft with 2 single beds. A small kitchenette with a small fridge, and a separate bathroom (no bath, only a shower).
The 2 sleeper is small and basic, an open plan room with a double bed and a bathroom (no bath, only a shower) separated only by a half wall.
The chalets are cleaned and made up before guests arrive and linen, bath towels, hand towels and guest soap are provided.
The chalets are not serviced during your stay, but arrangements can be made at a small daily fee.
There is a R150 once-off entrance fee per car (per week). It is a 90 minute drive from Little Carthage to The Kruger Park’s Orpen gate.
Guest access
Guests have the entire pool, pooldeck, braai facilities, and open kitchen to themselves.
They also have access to the fenced off garden area, the river and the Reserve.
Within the Reserve there is a communal viewpoint with a picnic table.
Other things to note
Access to Ndlovumzi is by an 8 km dirt road that takes approximately 30 minutes.
There is a once-off R150 gate fee per car, and Little Carthage is a further 3.5 km’s from the gate. 4 x 4 not required.
