Nestled along the southern bank of the White Umfolozi River, Madwaleni River Lodge offers an exclusive retreat with its luxurious safari tents arranged around a central gathering area housing a restaurant, lounge, and captivating library. The lodge takes its name from the isiZulu phrase meaning “The place of the rock,” paying homage to the picturesque granoliths mountains found in the reserve. With a fusion of sophistication and wilderness, this ultra-luxury tented camp promises a truly remarkable experience.

Madwaleni River Lodge is unfenced, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding natural beauty. The lodge features twelve luxury tents, accommodating a total of 24 guests. Each tent is renowned for its unique design and has received award-winning distinction, offering unrivaled comfort and style.

Madwaleni River Lodge takes great pride in its dedication to sustainability and the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The lodge’s restaurant showcases an innovative rooftop vegetable garden, ensuring a direct supply of organic produce and delivering a farm-to-table dining experience that is both delightful and exceptional. The lodge’s gym offers state-of-the-art facilities with panoramic river views, including treadmills, spin bikes, and an indoor water rowing machine.
