SUGARBUSH HILL COUNTRY COTTAGES

Sugarbush Hill lies on the northern slopes of a peaceful valley in the Magaliesberg Mountain Range. We are on the Rustenburg side of the range,
about 50 km from Hartebeespoort Dam and 25 km from Rustenburg.

It takes just over an hour to get to us from Fourways and an hour and a quarter from the eastern suburbs of Pretoria.

All our units are set at the foot of a hill and all have their own braais, carports and deep stoeps with panoramic mountain views. Guests are welcome to explore the 11Ha of indigenous bush.

Sugarbush Hill gets its name from the Common Sugarbush, Protea caffra which can be found in abundance on the hillside just behind the units. All the cottages have been named after indigenous plants found in the Magaliesberg area.

Wherever possible, alien species have been done away with or replaced with indigenous plants. As a result, our bird life is prolific and slowly but surely we are creating a natural haven where city folk can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Buffelspoort valley. We have identified and tagged a lot of indigenous trees on our property, so if you would like to brush up on your tree knowledge, bring along a tree book and spend some time looking them up.

Kiepersol and Thornbush Cottages:

This unit together with Kiepersol are ideally suited for families who want to enjoy an unforgettable vacation.

Kiepersol and Thornbush, are both 2 bedroom units, 1 double bed, 2 single beds, 1 double sleepers in lounge which are used as divan in the day. With bath/shower combinations. Both units have a electric four plate stove and oven. Open plan, fully equipped  is fairly spacious units, and is perfect for a family of 4-6. In front of the units is a Lapa, with build in braai, that can be shared with Thornbush. Kiepersol and Thornbush are a perfect combination if two family want to get away together.This units are equipped with a DSTV but only Mnet channels, Sport channels, TV1/2/3 and Etv.

Bushwillow and Raasblaar Cottages:

If we had to make one of this two units a “honeymoon suite” then Raasblaar would be it. It is an open-plan design and can accommodate 2 people in one queen size bed, is most often used by couples.

Both units have a gas cooking hob, a microwave oven, fridge freezer and all the utensils & crockery you would need. It also has a fireplace and a T.V. with Dstv, but only Mnet channels, Sport channels, TV1/2/3 and etv. The bathroom has a shower, hand basin and a toilet. Raasblaar has a spa bath for a relaxing bath experience.

Both units is perfect for a romantic getaway for a couple.

Olive, Jakaranda and Oak Cottages:

Jakaranda and Oak will only be available from July 2018. This three units sleeps five people each. This is two bedroom units, with double bed in one bedroom and double bed with single bed on top in other bedroom, fully equipped open plan kitchen, bath/shower and toilet, T.V. with Dstv, but only Mnet channels, Sport channels, TV1/2/3 and etv. This units have a deep stoep and own braai. Perfect for 2 couples and one kid.

Aloe and Karee Cottages:

Aloe & Karee make up duplex units, although each cottage is completely self-sufficient. Karee sleep two people, but also have a sleeper couch that folds open in a double bed that is suitable for two small kids or a young couple ans is used for a divan during the day. This is one bedroom unit, with fully equipped open plan kitchen, shower and toilet in Karee and shower/bath combination in Aloe, T.V. with Dstv, but only Mnet channels, Sport channels, TV1/2/3 and etv. Karee is a bid smaller than Aloe. This units have a deep stoep and own braai. Aloe and Karee are perfect for 2 couples who want to go away together, but who want a bit of privacy too.
