THOKOZANI LODGE

The lodge consists of a lush garden with a swimming pool which creates the perfect ambiance for a relaxed atmosphere. From here, you can enjoy various day trips and activities the Lowveld has to offer.

 

At Thokozani Lodge in White River, we are using a new PV system with solar panels and a battery storage system to avoid power loss during load shedding.

 

In a nutshell, home battery storage, or a solar battery, allows you to store electricity for use at a later time.

Thokozani Lodge is a small country-style Guest House that offers you a pleasant, private, and family atmosphere. The charming houses are nestled in a wonderful subtropical garden with huge old trees and palms.

Thokozani Lodge is the ideal starting point for day trips into the world-famous Kruger NP and the panorama route.

 

To having the world-famous Kruger National Park just around the corner is a great privilege. It is just great to be able to experience the diverse African wildlife so close.

 

Each season has its own fascination. Even the big or small animals or the landscapes in the park.

 

After an extensive breakfast, start to the Panorama route with the highlights of Gods Windows, Burk Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels and the view of the Blyde River Canyon.

 

Blyde River Canyon is the largest green canyon in the world. There are also great waterfalls like Lisbon Falls, Lone Creek Falls and Mac-Mac Falls.

 

We can organize day tours into the Kruger NP, panorama route and other highlights.

 

But “adrenaline addicts” also get their money’s worth. Bungee jumping, abseiling, white-water rafting and quad biking are just some of the ways to drive your pulse to dangerous heights. If you like it quieter, you can play horseback riding, golf and tennis.

 

One of your preferences, you should not leave without to visiting a traditional village where ancient rites and cultures are cultivated and lived. Listen to the fascinating tribal legends and learn all about traditional African medicinal plants from a Sangoma.

 

Rooms are en-suite (shower & toilet) and furnished with handmade wooden furniture in rustic style. It has 2 single beds. For a safe and peaceful night the bed is equipped with mosquito nets.

 

Bedding and Towels provided. The Room has a separate entrance and beautiful view to the garden. Free Coffee and Tea buffet.

 

The family room is en-suite (shower & toilet) and is furnished with handmade wooden furniture in rustic style. It has 1 double bed or 2 single beds & 1 bunk bed. For a safe and peaceful night the bed is equipped with mosquito nets. Bedding and Towels provided. The Room has a separate entrance and beautiful view to the garden. Free Coffee and Tea buffet, barbecue, fridge and microwave.

 

The Bungalow is en-suite (shower & toilet) and furnished with handmade wooden furniture in rustic style. It has 1 double bed or 2 single beds & 1 bunk bed. For a safe and peaceful night the bed is equipped with mosquito nets.

 

Bedding and Towels provided. Each Bungalow has a private terrace, free Coffee and Tea buffet, air con, barbecue and a fridge.

 

For self catering accommodation:

 

Each Bungalow has an outdoor sink, double hot plate, toaster, cutlery and crockery (not a fully equipped kitchenette).

 

The Timber-Hut is en-suite (shower & toilet) and furnished with wooden furniture in rustic style. It has 1 double bed. For a safe and peaceful night the bed is equipped with mosquito nets. Bedding and Towels provided. The Timber-Hut has a private terrace, free Coffee and Tea buffet, air con, barbecue and a fridge.

 

For self catering accommodation:

 

The Timber-Hut has an outdoor sink, double hot plate, toaster, cutlery and crockery (not a fully equipped kitchenette).

Thokozani Lodge is situated in the heart of the Lowveld. Only a short 30 minutes drive takes you to Kruger National Park. Watch the Big Five and all the other fascinating wildlife.

 

Panorama Route

 

The Panorama Route offers a kaleidoscope of breathtaking scenery and natural beauty.

 

Magnificent forest, spectacular views, picturesque waterfalls, the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, Pilgrim’s Rest – makes that part of the country an unforgettable experience.

Big Swing

Graskop – Experience the adrenaline of a 60m freefall in under 3 seconds on the world’s highest cable gorge swing. Followed by a majestic walk through the rain forest, or fly over the gorge on a 131m highwire, 80m above ground zero and witness the breathtaking Graskop waterfall as never seen before.

 

Abseiling

Hazyview – Abseil down a 30m granite rock near the Kruger National Park, with stunning views over the Lowveld! Min. group of 4 pax.

 

Sabie – Waterfall abseil, prepare to get wet! Abseil 25m down the Sabie waterfall. Available on certain days only.

 

Kloofing

 

An activity for the adventurous in the Sabie River and Mac Mac Valley. Rock hopping, bum sliding, pool crawling and hiking through spectacular valley scenery.

 

Quad Bike (from 1 to 4 hours)

The trails run through the scenic Sabie River Valley. Drive through leafy indigenous bush and plantations along the bubbling Sabie River and other scenic streams. Why not stop at a picturesque waterfall for a picnic?

 

The quad trails are suitable for novice and to experienced drivers. Friendly instructors/ guides will teach you how to ride the 250cc semi-automatic 4-weeler and safety equipment (helmets and goggles) are supplied.

 

River Rafting

 

Sabie River (half day) – The scenery is breathtaking with prolific birdlife – the rapids are exciting but not scary!

 

If you like, you can combine it with the White Water Tubing to a full day adventure trip.

 

Blyde River (full day) – Arguably the best river section in South Africa. Raft the third biggest canyon in the world! Unspoiled wilderness with spectacular canyon scenery. Rafting from Nov. to June. Min. group of 6 pax.

 

Length: 8km whitewater plus 5km motor boat cruise over dam.

White Water Tubing (Half Day)

 

A spectacular waterfall marks the start of your White Water Tubing adventure on the upper Sabie River. The tubing promises exhilarating rapids surrounded by indigenous forest and the scenery of the Sabie River Valley.

 

Specially designed tubes, ideal for river conditions, are used. Life jackets and helmets are supplied!

 

If you like, you can combine it with the River Rafting to a full day adventure trip.
