The 2 000-hectare malaria-free Waterberg Game Lodge Reserve abounds with a wide variety of antelope, buffalo, leopard, brown hyena, giraffe, and hippo. Offering exceptional sightings of many rare specials of fauna and flora, the game reserve is especially attractive for birders and wildlife admirers.

The accommodation, which overlooks the dam and Waterberg mountains, is rustic, catering to the needs of those seeking traditional lodge accommodation, as well as those looking for a self-catering experience.

Lodge restaurant:

Overlooking the dam and shadowed by the rolling hills of the Waterberg, the lodge restaurant leads out on to the deck.

Here guests can enjoy an indoor/outdoor setting and Boma.

Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main lodge, the fully equipped boma is a stand-alone venue with catering facilities and ablutions. The boma plays host to bush braais and sundowners beside the fire pit and is an ideal place to host private gatherings.

Communication between animals is extremely important to ensure their survival and so they have adapted many different wonderful ways of relaying information amongst each other. Humans are no exception to this rule and one way we have learned to communicate is through stories.

Storytelling has been a fundamental and deeply ingrained part of daily life for centuries in South Africa and so has helped us get closer to the world around us and is used as a tool to understand things like nature.

Served on the deck overlooking the dam, enjoy our a la carte terrace menu of light meals. Options includes fresh gourmet sandwiches, triple decker toasties, salads, and other lunch time favourites.

Dinner:

Buffet style meals feature authentic, down to earth African fare and can be enjoyed either in the lodge’s restaurant or in the Boma. Highlights include our bush braais which feature venison or traditional recipes cooked with love by our resident chef.
